Skatie Katie
St. Martins - Lunch in the seven Stones is enjoyed in the presence of a young lady who is nicknamed Skatie Katie (top tour folklore) and her family who have literally snorkelled to shore from their yacht parked (substitute correct description) in the bay. After Skatie Katie has turned down at least six marriage proposals from the younger Hoot Toots a late liquid Pimms lunch takes place in the lawns of the Island Hotel. Absent Peter
Friday Golf Club am. Peter remains absent. Jim decides that we had better wait for him to arrive before we tee off, so we sit and read the papers and order cups of tea. Peter fails to arrive. Jim’s mobile rings. “Hi. It’s Peter. I’m stuck in Newquay. A bus is taking us (Golley and Burton included) to Penzance.” Jim smiles and putting his hand over the mouthpiece informs us “That Peeta's stuck in fog.” Whilst we wait for further news the bar opens. An hour later Jim’s mobile rings. “Hi. It’s Peter. I’m stuck at Penzance.” Jim smiles and putting his hand over the mouthpiece informs us “He’s now stuck in Penzance, Tucks!” We opt to start the golf match. Peter eventually catches a special sail of the Scillonian at 7.30pm. Animal Farm
St. Martins - We walk to the Seven Stones from Pool Green via a curious inland trek that takes us through a menagerie of animals. We meet a raging bull, two knackered goats, a donkey and an animal that goes ‘ooeuf’- a cross breed between a hen and a pogo stick. Griff also discovers a waddle (substitute the correct collective noun if you know it) of ducks and takes great delight ducking whilst shouting ‘duck’ every time he stumbles across them. |
